Don't Steal Pot From The Cops
“I just couldn’t help myself. That bud smelled so good.” This is a statement made by a Pennsylvania man that admitted to stealing weed the police had seized as evidence from the Charleroi Police Department.
David Allan Thompson went to the police to speak with an officer and provide information about a case. That’s when he followed Officer David Kimball into the patrol room where the weed was sitting on the counter. After Thompson had given up his information and left, Officer Kimball realized the wed was gone. Another officer tracked Thompson down and asked him what he did with the weed to which he responded by putting the bag in the officer’s hand.
Thompson was arrested and is now facing charges of theft, receiving stolen property, tampering with or fabricating evidence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia because a search turned up a marijuana pipe. He reportedly told police he didn’t know why he was in so much trouble for taking a small bag of weed when he had gone in to give up information on another case.
